erster Messetag

Today was our first day of exhibition. Yesterday we decided, who will be in the early shift and who will be in the late shift.

Guido, Bertram, Ines, Steffy, Thomas and myself met at 7.30 am for breakfast. After having some waffles, scrambled eggs, bagels or toast we left the hotel and were at our booth around 8.15 am.

We set up the first laptops in our counters and prepared the booth for the opening at 9.00 am. The late shift arrived around 9.15 am and we put the next two laptops into the counters.

As we were still missing some power cables, mice for the counters, an access point for our internet, we decided that Bertram goes to Best Buy again, to buy all that stuff. So he left the exhibition hall again, while the rest had a lot of work to do at the booth. The exhibition started very good, we had a lot of contacts.

I had contact with two of our established customers and they were impressed by our booth with the new counters and the new tower. I showed them the improvements in our demo version and they asked me to help them to implement these changes into their systems.

The time passed by very fast and suddenly the first day was over. It was a great day, we had a lot of good contacts. The most important fact is, that several contacts from other exhibitions came back again to talk about an offer or even a certain timeframe for implementation.

After the show (around 5.15 pm) we had our after-show-meeting at our booth. Everybody gave feedback about the day and we talked about the most important leads. After that we went back to the hotel and had a beer to relax.

At 7.30 pm we went to the same restaurant we were last night. Today we invited Dr. Anna Ells (customer from Calgary) and Dr. Hildebrandt (Member of the AAO) for Dinner. So we chose the same restaurant again, because we had a good experience and knew what we get.

This was a good opportunity to introduce Heiko to Anna, because we will be in Calgary next week and of course he should know our customers.

At 10.30 pm the first part of the group (including myself) left the restaurant and went back to the hotel. I use the rest of this evening to write this blog and to relax a couple of minutes.

When you are in a large group together for several days, you need time for yourself to avoid stress in the team. (at least I need the time for myself)

Do you like to tell us the reason why you switched the language of your blog? Maybe in French or Spanish next time. ;-)
